Meet The Team

In 1969, Carl and his father decided to form a partnership and set up a motor dealership and garage on the site at which Carl Rosner Motorcycles is now situated. At the time, the business sold and serviced old sports cars and some motorbikes. It was from an early stage in the business that Carl developed a growing passion for motorcycles. In 1974, the business took on the NVT dealership with the addition of Enfield India in 1980 and MZ in 1983. With the demise of these brands over the following decade, Carl directed the businesses efforts into the retail and restoration of Triumph Motorcycles, Norton Motorcycles and the provision of a worldwide spares service. After the revival of Triumph, in 1993, Carl Rosner Motorcycles was appointed as a Triumph dealership, becoming one of its Founding Dealers within its UK dealer network. Carl was delighted and it was the start of a new era for the dealership and in the Triumph franchise’s inaugural year, the business was awarded Triumph’s Most Improved Dealer. 2011 was an important step forward for business with the introduction of the new Speed Triple, the all new Tiger 800 Adventure, the Thunderbird Storm and a top spec Daytona 675 R. Each model providing the foundation for a new and expanding product range that has delivered a growing number of new motorcycle sales and repeat customers. Upon retiring from the business in 2013, Bruno Tagliaferri, Triumph Motorcycle UK Sales Manager was quoted: “Carl Rosner has been an excellent ambassador for the Triumph brand over the last 22 years. His lifetime’s experience of selling Triumphs, which dates back to when the brand was manufactured in Meriden, has made him a firm fan with all Triumph customers”. Guy Masters, General Manager of Triumph UK also presented Carl with a lifetime achievement award specially designed and built by the Triumph factory using engine parts from the iconic triple cylinder engine. Carl still has a hand in the businesses’ operations and has the assurance that his son Robert, John Church and his wife, Angeline along with their committed team of staff will ensure the business continues to flourish for years to come.
Robert joined the business in 1997 within the Parts Department. This experience gave him a good grounding in getting to know customers and their own first-hand experiences of riding various types of motorcycle. When his father Carl retired in 2013, Robert moved into the showroom to take on a sales role prior to becoming a Director. In his present day capacity, Robert shares responsibility for running the business alongside John Church. Robert has been an avid biker since the age of 5 and enjoys annual trips onto the Continent with his favourite routes taking him across the countries of northern Europe. His bikes of choice are the Scrambler 1200 for daily use and the Triumph Tiger 1200 for his longer motorcycle excursions. Away from his number one passion of motorcycling, Robert enjoys mountain biking with friends around Westerham, the South Downs plus trips further afield to BikePark Wales in Merthyr Tydfil.
Rob joined Carl Rosner Motorcycles as our Sales Executive in 2017. A Traffic Support Officer with the Metropolitan Police from 2009 until 2014, we’re hoping you haven’t met him before. His main sales background was in estate agency but his passion has always been bikes. An owner of a Honda VFR 750 and a Daytona 675, Rob is now riding the impressive range of Triumphs on a daily basis. Future plans are the Isle of Man TT and a coast to coast ride in America. He lives in Reigate with his wife and when not working or riding, is busy on DIY in their home.
A year after the business was founded, John joined Carl Rosner Motorcycles as a technician initially under a motor apprenticeship after leaving school. John successfully completed his apprenticeship and quickly gained a lot of experience within the busy workshop which at the time, mainly serviced Norton and Triumph motorcycles. In 1976, John became a Director in the business whilst still retaining workshop responsibilities as Service Manager – a role which he still holds to this day. John now shares overall responsibility for running the business alongside Robert Rosner. John has been a biker since leaving school, starting out on an Ariel 500 Red Hunter and a Lambretta LB150 which he assembled from kit-form. At first, John viewed motorbikes as a practical form of transport, but his love for the open road grew, evidenced through a succession of motorcycle purchases and restoration projects in which he prepared and re-built classic race bikes. Like many bikers, John’s bike preferences have evolved – all of which have been catered within the modern Triumph range. Whilst the Daytona was his bike of choice, he's now a fan of the Tiger 1200 and can't wait to ride the new Rocket 3. John is a competent golfer, playing from a handicap of 18 and is a Member of the West Kent Golf Cub. Wentworth and Gran Canaria are regular features in his golfing calendar, along with the occasional Pro-Am event. If John is not on a bike or improving his golf handicap, his time is occupied with DIY in his own home or those of his grown-up children.
Amongst the businesses’ longest serving staff, Paul joined Carl Rosner motorcycles in 1980, bringing with him previous tech experience of commercial vehicles including tractors, fork lifts and trucks. His primary role within the business is Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI), used bike preparation, alarm and tracker installations and minor servicing. Paul has been a motoring enthusiast since his youth, picking up a spanner at the age of 8 to help in a local garage owned by his uncle. Paul is known for his hot rod and banger background both under the bonnet and behind the wheel having built hot rods and raced competitively on a number of circuits including Spedeworth, Swaffham and wins at Worthing. Nowadays, Paul enjoys time with his 2 children and grandchildren.
Joining the business in 1997, Adrian clocked up 15 years technician experience within the Carl Rosner workshop before his appointment to his present role in 2012. Adrian manages the day to day running of the workshop and a variety of other aftersales duties including service and parts enquiries, warranty claims and MOT testing. He bought his first bike at the age of 17, setting out on a Suzuki TS185 prior to purchasing 30 Japanese bikes including a Kawasaki ZX10, Kawasaki ZZR600, Kawasaki Z1000 and 3 Yamaha VMAXs. Amongst his first British bike purchases was a Triumph T140V and a Norton 750 Commando Fastback. Following the factory rebirth and emergence of the modern Triumph in the early 90’s, Adrian has owned a number of Triumph Tigers with his latest purchase being a Triumph Tiger XE.
Doug joined the business in 2014 bringing with him extensive knowledge and training in modern textile technologies including Gore-Tex factory training gained from a previous role within an outdoor clothing retailer. Doug adopts a consultative approach to customer service, equipped with the product knowledge to match clothing, footwear and helmets with the individual style preferences and practicality requirements of each customer. Two years after gaining his motorcycle license, Doug took a 1½ year motorcycle trip around Europe on his Triumph Daytona. The trip spanned as far north as Norway, venturing into the Arctic Circle to southward across the continent into Greece, Italy and the Mediterranean islands. He totaled a staggering 19,000 miles and was astounded as to the Daytona’s sound reliability and exceptional performance throughout variable and adverse climatic conditions and road surfaces. His positive experience of the Daytona forged a passion for Triumph motorcycles, and he’s since owned a number of Triumphs. Since Doug’s remarkable road trip across the Continent, Doug continues to enjoy long motorcycle excursions with regular routes around the Isle of Man, Scotland and the French Alps. Enjoying being upon and amongst the mountains also relates with his other leisure pursuits of cycling, hill walking and skiing.
Following 10 years as a motorcycle mechanic in Honda, Suzuki and Yamaha franchises, Adam joined the Carl Rosner workshop in 2002.
Chandler Watson joins Carl Rosner Motorcycles as an Experienced Motorcycle Technician. His passion for motorcycles has taken his from his first job in Halfords after leaving school, through his apprenticeship in motorcycle maintenance, to building, tuning and maintaining race winning Triumph Daytona 675’s for Alastair Seeley in the 2017 British Supersport GP2 Class and Gary Johnstone and Tom Weeden in their 2016 Isle of Mann TT races. He is now bringing his talent to the workshop team at Carl Rosner Motorcycles, and in turn, your motorcycle. In his spare time – when not customising his own bike, he enjoys clay pigeon shooting, trials riding and ride outs.
Rodrigo is our first Triumph factory trained apprentice and has now completed his level 3 apprenticeship. He qualified in July 2020.
Joining the business in 2015, Jenna supports the whole sales team as well as running the clothing department. Since her time with the business, Jenna has developed a passion for bikes, aiming to complete her CBT and aspiring to own a Street Triple. Jenna is currently enjoying new married life with Mario.
Alongside her husband Carl Rosner and his father, Angeline supported the business at its inception in 1969 and ever since performed the duties of company secretary, book keeping and administration. Although not a biker herself, Angeline enjoys riding pillion with Carl on trips across the local countryside and to social engagements. In addition to her commitments to the business, Angeline is passionate about providing support to local homeless people. To this end, she has a 25 year history of performing charitable work with the St. Vincent de Paul Society offering both hands-on support and having served 15 years as their Treasurer. Outside of the dealership and charitable work, Angeline enjoys spending time with her children and grandchildren to which she has passed on and shares her love for horse riding.
Becky is Robert’s wife and has always supported the dealership throughout the years and now works at the shop part time. She used to commute to London on her NTV650 and has recently taken out a Street Triple which was much better at cornering.
Jack is Robert and Becky’s border terrier. He loves his days at the dealership and often sports his Triumph T-shirt. He’s quite laid back and generally can be found lying in the sun.
